Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City/Cai Be/Vinh Long/Tra On (L, D, G on board)

After escaping from Ho Chi Minh City’s urban sprawl, you’ll be driven to the pier at Vinh Long in good time to board the ‘Mekong Eyes’ for a river cruise of the Delta’s canals and tributaries.

Lunch will be served on board as the vessel starts cruising along the Tien Giang River and into Cho Lach canal, teeming with sand and rice barges, drifting past quaint scenes of local people at their daily work, such as drying exotic fruits and building ships in their wooden yards.

Later, on the Mang Thit River, at the small town of Cai Nhum, you’ll disembark for a pleasant walk through the surrounding fruit orchards and rice fields observing the unfolding of the daily lives of the people.

Returning to the boat you’ll set off for Tra On, where the boat will anchor for the night. As the sun sets, you can enjoy the vivid views over the watery landscape before dinner. Your overnight stay will be onboard.

Day 2: Tra On/Can Tho/ Ho Chi Minh City (B, L, G on board)

In the early morning (at around 06.30) we’ll set off though the light of the sunrise. After breakfast you’ll board a traditional sampan, a small boat iconic to the Delta, to experience the mêlée of waterborne commerce at Cai Rang floating market, considered one of the best on the Delta.

Hundreds of small boats barge and jostle for space as owners attempt to sell their goods .

The boat will take you through the palm-shaded creek to see the local houses, green orchards and ship building yards. At 1100, you’ll arrive in Ninh Kieu Pier where your car and driver will be waiting to take you to Ho Chi Minh City and your hotel.
